Vaulted storage in Westchester County is securely packing your belongings in a personal wooden vault, which is sealed and stacked. The vault’s dimensions are 7’x7’x5’ and holds 200 cubic feet.
Overnight storage – also known as short term storage in transit (SIT) – is available on our moving trucks. When the timing between moving-out and moving-in is measured in days or hours, SIT saves the expense of unloading and then reloading the trailer. Instead, SIT shipments are secured inside the truck and kept at our facilities.
We make payment convenient by billing our customers monthly. If you have short-term or long-term storage needs, consider McAvey Moving’s storage facility to store your household goods or office items. Vaulted storage is billed monthly for the entire month – there is no partial month option. Additionally, for vaulted storage, you will need to provide notice of at least 2 weeks to obtain unscheduled access to your belongings depending on the time of year. An hourly fee will be charged. In both options, the owner’s property is covered by our insurance. As a result, your items are 100% secured and covered for loss or damage.
Self-Storage versus Full-Service Storage
Self-storage can save money but requires a lot more work and planning. You will need to pack, load and unload items from your residence to the self-storage facility. Items are not covered for loss or damage. McAvey Moving’s full-service storage offers a secure and worry-free alternative. Fragile items – such as art, electronics, or wine – that require special handling or precise climate control are handled accordingly. Bulky items – such as pianos or business equipment – likewise receive special treatment. Our Brewster NY location features 24-hour surveillance.
